Protagonist Picks 'Em - March 29th - 31st

We’re just getting started, as USL League One and USL Championship wander into matchweek three, UPSL and Metroplex Premier League also getting underway for the season! However, the indoor leagues are wrapping up their regular seasons and gearing up for their playoffs - take a look at the MASL and MISL games picked out for the week.

  • Ben Brannigan Picks…

    • Sporting NTX vs Dallas Deportivo Central - Metroplex Premier League

      • Fri, 03/29 - 8:00pm Central
at Prince of Peace HS in Carrollton, TX

      • Fun game at POPCS for Friday Night Football in the Metroplex Premier. Dallas Deportivo Central are looking to stay top of the table and keep up their great start to the spring season and obviously, Sporting will be looking to halt them. This will be an entertaining game for sure and definitely worth watching if you are around town. Take the kids and have a watch at a lovely high school stadium with lots of amenities around there too.

  • Jon Hunt Picks…

    • Central Valley Fuego vs Union Omaha - USL League One

      • Fri, 03/29 - 7:00pm (PST) / 10:00pm (EST)
        at Fresno State Soccer Stadium

      • Forward Madison will be searching for their first league win of the season after allowing Tormenta to equalize late and keeping Greenville at bay. Fuego will be looking to prove itself as Jones’s squad is still largely being picked to miss the playoffs despite only losing to Omaha so far this season. Should be a fun one on a Friday night addition of USL1 after dark.

  • Chris Walker Picks…

    • Phoenix Rising FC vs New Mexico United - USL Championship

      • Sat, 03/30 - 7:30pm Mountain
        at Phoenix Rising Stadium

      • It’s a nameless rivalry match, although the United roster is new, the supporters on both sides don’t like each other. This match is always spicy. Last time United was in Phoenix, they stole a victory. United is 1-0-0 at Phoenix Rising Soccer Stadium. United is looking to bounce back after that 4-0 loss to Charleston Battery. Phoenix defeated Oakland Roots 1-0.

  • Josh Duder Picks…

    • One Knox SC vs SG Tormenta FC - USL League One

      • Sat, 03/30 - 1:00pm (PST) / 4:00pm (ET)
        at Regal Soccer Stadium

      • After two wins from two, One Knox sit atop the table and host former champions, South Georgia Tormenta FC - in order to be the best, you have to beat the best, they say. Despite having a stellar 2022 playoff run, Tormenta struggled in 2023, but after earning 4 points from their first three matches this year, the Ibises are 4th in the table and will be looking to continue their rediscovered form.

  • Dan Vaughn Picks…

    • San Diego Sockers vs Tacoma Stars - MASL

      • Sat 03/30 - 7:05pm (PST) / 10:05pm (EST)
at Pechanga Arena in San Diego, CA

      • Sure the regular season is done as far as the standings go, but there’s plenty at stake for these clubs in the pride category. San Diego sits on top of the West and you’d expect them to cruise against the 3rd seed, but matches are meant to be played, so we’ll see!

  • Ben Brannigan Picks…

    • Inter McKinney vs Walia FC - Metroplex Prem 2

      • Sat, 03/30 - 6:00pm Central Time
at Gateway Park in Fort Worth, TX

      • This one is going to be a fun game, with two good teams who like to play attacking football. Both teams have good and fun players to watch too.

  • Jon Hunt Picks…

    • FK Han vs Southern Indiana FC - UPSL

      • Sat, 03/30 - 3:30pm (PST) / 6:30pm (EST)
at Warren Central High School in Bowling Green, KY

      • Two of the new teams to the KY-TN conference square off for SIFC’s season opener. FK Hans will be looking to bounce back after suffering a loss in their first ever match in UPSL falling 2-1 to Pre-College DA. The match will also be FK Hans first ever at home, so this one is definitely one to circle for all the lower league sickos out there.

  • Josh Duder Picks…

    • Rapid City FC vs Omaha Kings FC - MLIS

      • Sun, 03/31 - 11:00am (PST) / 2:00pm (EST)
at SoccerZone Arena in Jennison, MI

      • It’s nearly a wrap in the Major League Indoor Soccer regular season and Cleveland Crunch are on top of the league, but the Omaha Kings have a game in hand and if they win out it is possible to take over that spot at the very end of the year. However, Rapid City will be playing a very important role of spoiler, as they have three games left in the year and play both the Kings as well as the Crunch in two of those. So much is on the line!
