Seattle Lone Star FC (UPSL - Northwest)
When was your club formed, by whom, and what is the mission of the club?
The club Seattle Lone Star FC, with the former name of Liberian Star FC, was founded in the year of 2015. This club was founded by Adama Sheriff. When the club was first created we had no intentions of taking it far, it was created in order to bring our community together and have fun. Now we are here in the future and the plans are no longer the same. We have bigger goals and ambitions for the team with plans on taking things further while also having fun.
Where do you play and what league are you in?
The Seattle Lone Star current location for home games and practices are located at the Rainier Beach high school. Our practice days are Tuesdays and Thursdays and we alternate game days between Saturdays and Sundays.
The league that we currently play in is called the UPSL and our next goal will be the USL 2.
We recently saw your players holding trophies! What did you win and do you have a history of winning cups?
This is not the first time we have won a trophy, in fact we have won multiple, our biggest one being The All Nation at star fire. The team showcased the Liberian culture and our togetherness in the Seattle area. But this weekend we were able to win in the Pacifico Del Liago league coming out first place in the finals.
Do you have any hopes or aspirations to grow the club and participate at a higher level?
Yes, we have very big goals and aspirations for the team. Currently we are working towards taking part in the Western Washington Premier League this summer with hopes of taking home another trophy.
Running a team, at any level, can be expensive, do you have sponsorship? How do you cover the league and field fees?
The Seattle Lone Star doesn't currently have a sponsorship but are looking for one. Here is an attachment that can be shown to others. Although we don't have any sponsorships at the moment we work with the Liberian Community and represent them in different ways showing our culture, due to the fact that our team is based in the Liberian community.
