Under the Lights: Peachtree FC (ADASL)
Its the start of a new soccer season and we thought it would be great to catch up with one of our favorits clubs in Georgia…
What league did you decide on?
We decided to join the ADASL, the top amateur league in Atlanta. We chose this league as it gives us a chance to test ourselves against the best teams in the area while also starting in their second division and building our way to promotion to the first division.
What are the updated immediate and long term goals?
Our immediate goals are to compete and push for promotion in our first season in the league. We're excited by the challenge to show what we've been building and hopefully go straight to the first division after one season.
Long term, we want to compete at the top of the first division, continue to build and give back to our community, and look to follow in the footsteps of other Georgia lower league teams with a run in the US Open Cup.
Where are you drawing players from?
We've drawn players from local pickups, free agents from the ADASL, and friends of teammates.
How do you contribute to the greater community and what community organizations might have you spoken with to work with?
We currently participate in fundraising tournaments with Soccer in the Streets to help support their mission of providing mentorship and free soccer to underserved communities in our local area. Our goal with the upcoming charity tournament on June 11th is to raise $7,500. We're continuing to build on this partnership with Soccer in the Streets and look forward to doing more with them and our community.
Since your Icarus kits, what new merch have you dropped or have plans to release?
Beyond our Icarus kits (which are available to pre-order through the end of the month), we also have released mugs, scarves, and season ticket passes. In particular, I wanted to note our season ticket passes, as they were specifically created to help lower the cost to players joining our team.
While we won't be charging admission to any of our games, purchasing a season ticket pass goes directly toward lowering the cost of the season for our players so that we can ensure any player who is talented enough to be on our team does not miss out on playing due to the cost. I also want to give a big shout out to AC Chehalem Valley (@ACCV_SheFlies) who inspired us to create this product and Calyx Design (@CalyxDesign) for putting together the beautiful design of the passes.
