40. Georgia Revolution FC (NPSL)

Originally begun as the top-squad of RYSA (Rockdale Youth Soccer Association) the team was purchased in 2016 and separated from the youth organization. Instead, they are active in the community, offering FREE after-school programs and focusing on player development. Additionally, they commit significant time and resources to “make us the destination for players who have aged out of youth but want to continue to play at a higher level.” This is a family club; from the gates on a matchday to selling merch and every other aspect of the club, the Revs are a team that players, fans, staff… and investors can call home.

39. FC Motown (NPSL/NESL)

Long time giants of the Garden State Soccer League, FC Motown burst into national spotlight in 2018 with their strong run through the NPSL playoffs where Morristown would finish runners-up in the National Final. The club has been able to provide a strong roster that includes collegiate and ex-professional players such as Dilly Duka.  Regardless of the competition, if FC Motown is eligible chances are they are going to compete and chances are they are going to be successful. Which is a rare trait to find in a lower league soccer club. This community team has shown their national ambition, but with a bigger investment in the club the Morristown Celtics could expand the operation adding additional youth sides as well as a Women’s side truly creating a club that represents the entire community of Morristown, NJ. More teams also means more trophies.

38. Lone Star Republic (UPSL/WPSL)

There isn’t a more wild story than that of Lone Star Republic: fake sponsors, solid branding, highly qualified personnel who are determined to make LSR successful. This once failing sunday league team went under new management, rebranded and set its sight on becoming professional. From rebranding in 2018 to joining the UPSL in 2019 and adding on ex-professional players Zach and Casey Loyd to coach the men’s and women’s side, respectively. Everything this club does looks and feels professional. Lone Star Republic is on a trajectory to become professional in the near future and any good investor would want to hitch on to that wagon.

37. Union Dubuque FC (MWPL)

While Dubuque is a part of Iowa, it sits close to both Illinois and  Wisconsin, which has created a unique blend of culture in the city. This close relation to other states also puts Dubuque in a unique position to have an impact on the entire Tri-State soccer community. Union Dubuque is an organization that runs off local membership, sticking to its ambition of being a local club. Currently the club operates its first team in the Midwest Premier and also houses a U21 men’s and women’s side. The club actively markets themselves online continuously engaging in the national soccer conversations as well as promoting its local rivals. An investment in UDFC isn’t just an investment in a soccer club, but a club that then is going to put all that back into the soccer community to expand the opportunity for the talent in the tri-state area.

36. Atlantic City FC (NPSL)

Gambling and sports go hand in hand, so who better to sponsor a soccer club than a casino? Atlantic City FC have provided the American soccer with a unique brand tied to the community culture, great kits with a recognizable sponsor, Tropicana. This young NPSL side has already pushed a few players into the professional ranks, with help from ex-professional Kristian O’Leary who now coaches the club. In its 2019 season they finished first in the division and performed well in the playoffs, which helped them earn qualification into the next rendition of the Open Cup. The club has made connections to local sponsors and community service efforts and is growing at a consistent rate, but an investment would help the Aces become a staple in the entertainment industry, providing both tourists and locals with soccer.

35. Edgewater Castle FC (MWPL)

One of the sharpest brands in soccer, Edgewater Castle has been pumping out some of the most iconic merchandise in lower league soccer. Behind that marketing and branding success is a club who stands for equal access to the game, who is funded through community members and sponsors. The organization continues to build forward, but is focused on sustainable growth rather than quick expansion. As the club ventures into its first season in the Midwest Premier they are in a prime position to capitalize off of the leagues connection to the national audience, which was strengthened through its own relationship with NISA. Great brand, strong market and the right mission are the perfect ingredients for a successful investment in lower league soccer.

34. NY Pancyprian Freedoms (EPSL)

Hailing from Astoria, NY, a neighborhood of Queens NYPF is in one of the hotbeds of soccer. The club has access to top clubs from all over the pyramid and in multiple leagues and have begun to form relationships with its professional neighbors. The Pancyprian Freedoms are a club rooted in history. They have not only participated in the U.S. Open Cup, but they have also won it three times and even made it to the Semi-finals of the CONCACAF Champions Cup. The Cosmopolitan league is filled with clubs with a history of winning, but the 9-time champions will be carrying the torch as they move into EPSL. The club is also expanding its youth program with Eleftheria Pancyprians, a partner to professional side NYCFC, and the multiple reserve sides that will help create a pipeline for talented individuals from the community.

33. FC Arizona (NPSL/UPSL/WPSL)

FC Arizona offers one of the strongest organizations on the list. There’s multiple teams, in multiple leagues, at multiple age groups. Many of the club's coaches have professional experience abroad and the club continues to build an attractive option for players to elevate their game in a region that is void of professional opportunities. The club has also been successful in the NPSL, consistently being a top squad in the West and consistent playoff team. This club is a prime candidate for investment, because it ticks all the boxes and is a competitive local club who have made multiple good impressions on the national soccer scene.

32. Snohomish County FC (WWPL/WISL)

Go Fish! Not your typical chant at a match, but SnoCo FC honored its state fish by dawning it on the crest. The Steelheads have offered a unique approach to marketing from its merchandise to the Fish Food, a combination of Swedish Fish, Goldfish and a few other sweet and salty munchies. All lower league fans can identify the fish scales, they have become synonymous with the club and its creative kit production. After being crowned 2019 WWPL Champions the organization expanded with an indoor side, a move that is more common on the West Coast. Snoco has put its strong foot forward on always promoting and developing the community and its talent.

31. Tulsa Athletic (NPSL/PSL)

Founded in 2013 Tulsa Athletic quickly became a strong competitor in the NPSL, being crowned conference champions in its inaugural season. Since then the club has gone one to win three additional conference titles and qualified for the open cup three times. That success on the field has been partnered with a creative approach to merchandise and marketing, all of which has a local spin. The organization has also begun to expand with its academy and UPSL side “Tulsa Athletic Project 2020” which focuses on the development of local non-collegiate athletes. The club stands for its community and the equality of all individuals and continuously hosts charitable efforts to give to those causes.
