Copa de Insignias - Whose Logo was the Best in the Land?
Three years ago, we ran a contest involving 96 clubs, two years ago we ran with 324 club badges from all across the United States and while WE thought that was enough… YOU didn’t! Apparently we missed a few. So, last year we upped it to 512. What’s fascinating is that we may be able to double that! So this year we’re aiming for 1024 total US-based soccer badges.
After sharing 1024 badges, a total of 508 polls plus the final poll, all through 1018 tweets and a total of over 32 hours of legwork and online sharing - YOU the voters have whittled down the field to hoist Oakland Roots as the 2022 Copa de Insignias Champions - insofar as Protagonist Soccer is concerned, they have the Best Badge in the Land! Joining Detroit City FC from 2019. Appalachian FC from 2020, and last year’s winners, Christos FC.
As a fun aside, look for us to work with Canadian Soccer Sentinel to bring you the North American Badge Super Cup! We will pit our logo champion against the best from Canadian lower league soccer as determined by their polling process. It’s a two-legged affair, with both them and us launching our polls on December 31st at 3:00pm (EST) / Noon (PST). Lastly, it wouldn’t be a true North American Super Cup without the Mexican and Caribbean lower leagues - if any of our followers are tuned into those leagues or know of a media handle which does, please let us know!
