East Coast Bias

I thought last weekend had a lot of soccer. Clearly I was wrong because this – THIS – weekend is loaded. It’s an NESL Super League weekend as well as an Eastern Pennsylvania Soccer Association (EPSA) Amateur Cup weekend. There will be West Chester United teams playing everywhere! Let us take a look at last weekend’s games and look ahead to what’s coming this weekend.

EPSL

Doxa SC and Lansdowne Yonkers FC have taken the early lead in the EPSL Metropolitan table with two wins in two games. After giving up an early goal to New Amsterdam FC II, Doxa SC would find the back of the net twice in the second half and took all three points. Meanwhile, the Bhoys took home a 2-1 victory against FC Westchester. Both clubs face interesting opponents this week, as Lansdowne face the surprising SEFT FC (one win, one draw so far) in a Saturday night match starting at 7PM ET. Doxa, meanwhile, get an old rival as NY Pancyprian Freedoms Sunday afternoon at 2PM. The Doxa SC v NY Pancyprian Freedoms game will be streaming on mycujoo, and the Lansdowne v SEF FC game will be on Lansdowne’s Facebook page.

Here’s the rest of the weekend’s schedule:

Sunday, October 18th

NY Athletic Club v KidSuper Samba SC, 12PM ET

Clifton Elite FC v FC Westchester, 7:15PM ET

New Amsterdam FC II v NY Greek Americans FC, *PM ET

Monday, October 19th

Zum Schneider FC 03 v Philadelphia Lone Star, 8:30PM ET (mycujoo)

NESL Super League

It’s a Super League weekend! And even better – it’s a full schedule of streamable games. The fun is all happening on Saturday, starting with Safira FC hosting West Chester United at 5PM ET. At 7PM, Christos FC and FC Motown meet down in Maryland. Both those matches are clashes with clubs who have not lost yest. In the third match, Jackson Lions v Vereinigung Erzgebirge, we have two teams looking to get a result. It’s early yet, but I’m sure neither of these teams want to start this season with two losses. The Jackson-VE match starts at 7:30PM. All three games will be streaming at mycujoo.

UPSL

The New York Contour coronation in the American Division needs to be put on hold. Allentown United FC are not going away anytime soon. While New York Contour had its game with Philadelphia Lone Star re-scheduled, Allentown continued on its winning ways with 4-1 win on the road against Astoria Knights FC. Allentown is now level on points atop the table with New York Contour, but have played one more game so keep that in mind.

Meanwhile, EFA Metro made it two wins in a row with a goal-laden 6-4 win over Westchester United, moving them into a tie with New Jersey FC for third place in the standings. That’s 12 goals in two games for EFA Metro, thankyouverymuch.

Here’s your weekend schedule in UPSL’s Northeastern Conference American Division:

Saturday, October 17th

Westchester United v Astoria Knights, 4PM ET (mycujoo)

Philadelphia Lone Star FC v Santa Fe NY, 6PM ET

New Jersey FC v Bronx River FC, 7PM ET

Cosmopolitan Soccer League

After two weeks, it’s Hoboken FC 1912 and Manhattan Celtic that find themselves sitting on top in Division 1, each with two wins in two games. Hoboken FC dropped six goals on NY Greek Americans II last weekend in a 6-3 win, while Manhattan Celtic got past Polonia SC 2-1. Right behind them we find NY Shamrock and Beyond FC at four points each, with both clubs having to settle for nil-nil draws against Richmond County FC and Kelmendi FC NY respectively.

NY Shamrock and Beyond FC are matched up this weekend in a battle of undefeateds Sunday at high noon. Here’s the rest of the schedule for the weekend:

Long Island Soccer Football League

Glen Cove and Forest Park had last weekend all to themselves as the lone game in the LISFL. Both clubs had lost their opening game, and it would be Forest Park getting all three points in 2-0 win. The loss puts Glen Cove at the bottom of the Premier Division with NY Serbia, and they have yet to find the back of the net.

A full schedule of games is on tap this weekend. Port Jefferson and NY Irish Rovers try to make it three in a row going on the road to face Leros and Forest Park respectively. NY Serbia and Glen Cove face off in the battle of the winless. And that leaves Olympiacos NY and NY Hota Bavarians facing off this Sunday at 4PM, the last game of the weekend.

Garden State Soccer League

A funny thing happened on the way to FC Motown’s dominance in the Super Division. Ironbound SC pulled off a 2-0 upset win against the Morristown club, and suddenly the table is wide open. Jackson Lions FC have now leaped into the division lead after beating Vistula Garfield SC 4-1 last weekend then going to Newark and pulling out a 1-0 win against Ironbound SC on Wednesday. Clifton Elite FC 2 were only able to get a point in its 3-3 draw with Sport Club Portug, but now they have sole possession of second place.

Here’s the schedule in the Super Division for this weekend:

Friday, October 16th

Sportfriends Polonia SC v Clifton Elite FC 2

Sport Club Portug. v Ukrainian Sitch SC

Evolution SC v White Eagles SC

Saturday, October 17th

Vistula Garfield SC v North Jersey Alliance FC, 8:30PM ET

Sunday, October 18th

On the womens side, the Peninsula Aztecs continue to get the very short end of the stick. The latest was a 6-1 defeat against NJ Wizards SC Forza. The Aztecs are now winless in three games with a goal differential of -17. Better days ahead.

Here’s the weekend schedule for the Women A Division:

Sunday, October 18th

Meadowlands FC v Peninsula Aztecs, 8AM ET

Jackson Lions FC v North Jersey Alliance FC, 6PM ET

NJ Wizards SC Forza v Hoboken FC 1912, 6:30PM

CASA

BUT – FC Misconduct have two games in hand.

United Soccer League of Pennsylvania

Where have we heard this before: West Chester United with another impressive win. Ukrainian Nationals gave a good effort, but ultimately would succumb 3-0 to the Predators. West Chester find themselves with a six-point lead atop the Mens Major Division. Lancaster City FC and Vereinigung Erzgebirge did their best to try and keep up, beating Colonial SC and United German Hungarians respectively.

VE and Lancaster City face off this weekend at 2:30 on Sunday is a key match up. The rest of the weekend’s action looks like this:

Sunday, October 18th

Lighthouse United v Colonial SC, 2:30PM ET

In Womens Major, it’s a case of the have and have-nots as four teams sit with nine points or better and the other four teams have three points or less. Huntingdon Valley Pride scored its first win of the season last weekend – a 3-1 decision at home against Lancaster City. At the top of the table is United German Hungarians with 12 points, after defeating Danubia 2-1 last weekend.

Here’s the schedule for this weekend:
