East Coast Bias

Sorry fellow readers. I missed a week due to a number of things going on here at the Howard-Fusco residence. Some good, some not so much. But I am back to review what has been going on and what remains for this fall. Some leagues are heading for the playoffs, while others are getting ready for the winter break. But plenty of games left to sink in to, so come sink in with me.

EPSL

So yeah – last time we chatted I said that Lansdowne Yonkers FC was making a statement for other clubs to come and get them. Welp, Philadelphia Lone Star FC came and got them - to the tune of a 3-1 win against the Bhoys on October 24th. The loss knocked Lansdowne off the top of the table, and there’s a new sheriff in town in the form of NY Pancyprian Freedoms. Winners of their first five matches, NY Pancyprian have a three-point lead over Lansdowne and Zum Schneider FC 03. But the Bhoys have a shot at the league leaders this weekend as NY Pancyprian come a-calling for a 7PM match (mycujoo).

Here’s the rest of your weekend schedule in the EPSL:

Saturday, November 7th

KidSuper Samba AC v New Amsterdam FC II, 8PM ET

Sunday, November 8th

Doxa SC v SEFT FC, 6PM ET

NY Greek Americans v Philadelphia Lone Star FC, 6PM (mycujoo)

Zum Schneider FC 03 v FC Westchester, 8PM ET (mycujoo)

Tuesday, November 10th

Clifton Elite FC v NY Athletic Club, 9:15PM ET

NESL Super League

Wake the neighbors - it’s an NESL Super League weekend!

Well, kind of.

We do have one game this weekend, as Jackson Lions host Christos FC. Christos have not lost yet in NESL play, and Jackson have not won yet, so a Lions win would be a big feather in the cap. Both clubs will be in action next weekend as well in the NESL.

UPSL

Please be upstanding for the Fall 2020 Season champs New York Contour United! The club put away any hopes on anyone catching them after three straight wins: routing Philadelphia Lone Star 6-1 on October 28th, beating Allentown United on the road Halloween night 2-1, and taking out New Jersey FC 4-1 at home on November 5th. New York Contour has taken an impressive 28 out of as possible 30 points this season. All that’s left before the playoffs is a home match against Westchester United FC this Sunday at 3PM.

Playoff spots have also been claimed by EFA Metro and Allentown United, but three more spots are being pursued by five teams. North Jersey Alliance seems to be pretty set to take one of those spots, and most likely only needs a draw against New Jersey FC on Saturday at 4PM (streaming on mycujoo). NJFC also has a game on Sunday against Bronx River FC, who can’t stop scoring goals all of the sudden. One win from either of those games would put NJFC into the playoffs. Philly Lone Star also just needs a result of some kind against FSA Pro on Saturday at 6PM (mycujoo) to punch their playoff ticket. Santa Fe NY and Real New York FC have work to do and need some help.

Here’s the rest of the schedule:

Saturday, November 7th

Santa Fe NY v Allentown United, 4PM ET

EFA Metro v Real New York FC, 7PM ET

Sunday, November 8th

Astoria Knights v Real New York FC, 3PM ET (mycujoo)

Tuesday, November 10th

Bronx River FC v Astoria Knights FC, 8PM ET

Cosmopolitan Soccer League

It’s becoming a three-team race at the top of the table in the CSL. Right now, NY Shamrock SC sits on top with 16 points, just one point over Hoboken FC 1912 and Manhattan Celtic. NY Shamrock has played one more game, but you cannot deny a +20 goal differential after only six games. Both Hoboken FC and Manhattan Celtic have a chance to leap over the Rocks this weekend. Hoboken have a home match against Polonia SC on Sunday at 2PM, while Celtic host Real Ole FC on Sunday at 9:15PM.

Here’s the rest of the weekend (and just beyond) schedule:

Sunday, November 8th

Stal Mielec NY v Kelmendi FC NY, 11AM ET

Richmond County FC v Zum Schneider FC 03 II, 6PM ET

Tuesday, November 10th

NY Greek Americans II v Beyond FC, 9PM ET

Wednesday, November 11th

Manhattan Kickers v NY Shamrock SC, 8:15PM ET

Long Island Soccer Football League

The Port Jefferson train keeps on rolling. The club is now a perfect five for five after beating NY Irish Rovers 2-0 in battle of the undefeated and untied last weekend. This weekend it’s third-place NY Hota Bavarians who get a shot at the league leaders. The match will be this Sunday at 2PM. All eight clubs are in action this Sunday, and the rest of schedule is as follows:

Sunday, November 8th

Forest Park v NY Serbia, 12PM ET

Olympiacos NY v Leros, 2PM ET

NY Irish Rovers v Glen Cove, 9PM ET

Garden State Soccer League

The Jackson Lions have unleashed their scorched earth strategy on the rest of the GSSL. The Lions showed no mercy on Sportfriends Polonia SC on October 24th, beating them 12-0 with Walter Calderon-Boteo scoring seven – that’s right – SEVEN of the 12 goals. The first seven goals, by the way. That’s just – wow. Jackson followed that up with a 7-0 win over Evolution SC. So that’s two games won by a combined score of 19-0.

FC Motown are keeping pace with Jackson Lions, including a 2-0 win over Clifton Elite FC 2 in a top of the table tussle. FC Motown and Jackson find themselves tied at the top of the Super Division with 18 points each, four points ahead of Clifton Elite 2 and Sport Club Portug.

For this weekend, Jackson and Clifton square off Saturday night at 7PM in a key game. For the rest of the weekend’s action, White Eagles SC go to Garfield on Saturday to play Vistula Garfield SC at 8PM, while Bulldogs SC host Sport Club Portug. at 6PM on Saturday.

North Jersey Alliance FC have pulled out to a four-point lead in Women A Division play over Jackson Lions and Meadowlands FC. All six clubs in the division are playing this weekend, and here’s the schedule:

Sunday, November 8th:

Meadowlands FC v Hoboken FC 1912, 8AM ET

North Jersey Alliance FCF v Peninsula Aztecs, 8:15AM ET

Jackson Lions v NJ Wizards SC Forza, 6PM ET

CASA

With a five-point lead and a game in hand, FC Misconduct are this close to running away with things in the Primera Division. This weekend they have a big match with second-place FC SouthHouse, and a win by FC Misconduct could really put some space between them and the rest of the division.

Here’s the rest of the weekend’s schedule:

Saturday, November 7th

Philadelphia Corinthians FC v YTP FC, 7:30AM ET

FC Tigre v Philadelphia Heritage SC, 12:30PM ET

South Philly United v Icarus FC, 2:10PM

Vidas United v Stoney United, 3:50PM ET

United Soccer League of Pennsylvania

If you’ve been able to follow the schedule changes in the USLPA, you’re a better person than I. Between COVID and the EPSA Amateur Cup, the schedule has been thrown out of whack. The only thing I know for sure is that West Chester United has a chance to win all the trophies. Currently they sit six points up in the Mens Major Division and not looking to be challenged.

While West Chester is not playing this weekend, here is the Mens Major schedule of teams that are playing:

Sunday, November 8th

Phoenix Sport Club v Danubia, 2:30PM ET

Ukrianian Nationals v Lancaster City FC, 2:30PM ET

The Womens Major division has also had to deal with a lot of rescheduled games, but this weekend has a full slate. Three clubs are fighting it out at the top of the table, with United German Hungarians holding a one-point lead over Huntingdon Valley Pride and Lancaster City FC.

Here’s the weekend schedule:

Sunday, November 8th

Danubia v Philadelphia Flames, SC, 12PM ET

United German Hungarians v Lighthouse United, 12PM ET

Lower South v Lancaster City FC, 12PM ET

Huntingdon Valley Pride v Warminster SC, 3:30PM ET

EPSA Amateur Cup

The quarterfinals of the Amateur Cup will be completed this weekend with a pair of games – the big one being West Chester facing off against Vereinigung Erzgebirge at 2PM this Sunday. The other match features Lighthouse SC hosting United German Hungarians. The winners are off the semifinals to be held on November 15th.
