East Coast Bias
The table-toppers continued to enjoy that winning feeling this past weekend, putting the pressure on the rest of the pack to keep up. The Eastern Pennsylvania Soccer Association’s Amateur Cup kicked off, while the New Jersey Soccer Association held the draw of its State Cup. And we continue to see games having to be rescheduled here and there.

Too early for a statement game? Possibly, but Lansdowne beating SEFT FC 5-0 this past weekend feels like the Bhoys are challenging the rest of the Metropolitan Division to come and get them. Meanwhile, NY Pancyprian Freedoms picked up two wins in three days – a 2-0 over Doxa SC on Sunday and 3-1 over KidSamba on Tuesday. Both Lansdowne and NY Pancyprian find themselves at the top of the standings with nine points each. Clifton Elite won its first game of the season, defeating FC Westchester 1-0.
Some great matchups are happening this weekend, including Philadelphia Lone Star hosting Lansdowne Yonkers this Saturday at 7PM (available on mycujoo) and the “Greek Derby” between NY Greek Americans and Doxa SC on Sunday at 8:15PM.
Here is the rest of the weekend schedule:

NESL Super League
I know it’s only been two games, but you’re starting to get the feeling that this competition may come down to Christos FC and West Chester United. Christos took care of FC Motown down in Maryland 4-2 this past Saturday, while West Chester traveled up to Massachusetts and got past Safira FC 3-2. To finish the weekend’s action, Vereinigung Erzgebirge defeated Jackson Lions 4-2 in Jersey, leaving the Lions as the only team yet to earn a point.
Although there are no Super League games scheduled for the weekend, Christos FC will be in action representing the league against Philadelphia Union II on Saturday at 12:30PM at the Power Training Complex in the shadows of Subaru Stadium. This is an interesting friendly and I’m curious to see the result.

The American Division leaders had to work at it, but both New York Contour and Allentown United came out on top this past weekend. FSA Pro controlled much of the play in the first half against New York Contour. But a second half goal broke a 1-1 tie and gave the visiting New York Contour the victory. Allentown United had its hands full with Real New York FC but pulled out a 1-0 win at home. Both clubs now have 19 points, five points clear of third place EFA Metro who had its three-game win streak stopped by Bronx River FC. That’s Win #1 for Bronx River, by the way.
Here is your weekend schedule:
Saturday, October 24th
North Jersey Alliance FC v Philadelphia Lone Star FC, 3PM ET (mycujoo)
Bronx River FC v Allentown United FC, 3PM ET (mycujoo)

Hoboken FC 1912 and Manhattan Celtic each made it three wins in three games after posting wins this past weekend. On Sunday afternoon Hoboken FC got by Zum Schneider FC 03 II 2-0. Later that night, Manhattan Celtic blanked NY Greek Americans II 3-0. NY Shamrock stayed right behind the leaders after thumping Beyond FC 4-0. It was a rough day for Beyond FC as its reserve team got the short end of an 8-0 result against Manhattan Celtic’s reserve team. Needless to say, Beyond FC probably doesn’t want to see Manhattan Celtic any time soon.
Manhattan Celtic and fourth place Manhattan Kickers face off in a big match this Sunday at 7:30PM at Pier 40. The rest of the schedule looks like this:
Sunday, October 25th

Parsippany Football Club grabbed the lead in A North Division with an emphatic 8-0 win over Meadowlands FC, which included a hat trick from Ruben Arenas. Keep that up, son, and they’ll name a sandwich after you. In A Central Division, it’s an all-Ocean County parade with Jackson Lions Reserves and Jersey Shore Boca Juniors atop the table with 12 points each.
The Jackson Lions train in Women A Division was slowed down this past weekend after a 3-2 loss to North Jersey Alliance FC. That result, along with Meadowlands FC winning their game, puts NJAFC and Meadowlands on top of the table with 12 points each. The ladies from Jackson get another crack at the top when they face Meadowlands FC this Sunday at 6PM.

SMK and Drexel Shaft are both a perfect five for five in wins so far in the Segunda Division after their wins this past weekend. Oh yeah, says Rose Tree Gunners in Tercera Division, well we’re six for six! And they are after last weekend, putting them five points clear of second place Berber United. The race in Cuatro Division is still up for grabs, with FC Burlington on top but five clubs three points or less behind them.
