New Assistant Editor for Protagonist Soccer
Protagonist Soccer is pleased to announce the promotion of Elisabeth Schendel to the Protagonist Soccer executive team. She will be taking on the dual roles of Assistant Editor and Director of Women’s Soccer Content. Joshua Duder, formerly Assistant Editor, will move into the role of Director of Marketing. The goal of the expansion is to bring new perspectives into the decision-making processes while coordinating specific job responsibilities with current staff. “I’m excited for this new challenge, and I look forward to being able to further work and learn from Dan, Josh, and the rest of the Protagonist team. They’ve all been extremely supportive of my passions and interests so far, and I know they’ll be just as supportive going forward,” Lis said about her new role.
Lis has been an integral part of the expansion of Protagonist Soccer’s coverage of lower league women’s soccer. She has quickly grown into her role with the team by providing a unique voice to the Protagonist Weekly podcast, specializing in the women’s game. Her opinion and insight have also shone through her coverage of women’s soccer for the website, making her central to Protagonist’s Soccer expansion into woso coverage.
In her new role, Lis will take part in the executive team’s decisions on the direction of the website, the prioritization of projects, and the recruitment of new talent. She will continue to be a contributor on podcasts, as well as creating content for the website. As Director of Women’s Soccer Content, Lis will be responsible for the expansion of coverage of women’s soccer and has immediate plans to accomplish that. “One of my main priorities besides supporting the rest of our staff is to develop a strategy for putting out consistently fresh and engaging WoSo content. I think Protagonist Soccer’s current reader base has shown to be extremely ready to embrace women’s soccer culture and content, if they haven’t already, and I’m excited to bring in more followers who just want to learn more about this vastly uncovered and limitless community that is lower league WoSo. My next priority is to build up a small but passionate army of contributors to help me cover WoSo and all of its nuances. I want that army to be diverse, to challenge one another (me especially), and I want them to feel like they have the support needed to explore important topics in and around the world of women’s soccer.”
