CASCADIA PREMIER LEAGUE

Over the winter, the Western Washington Premier League has rebranded as the Cascadia Premier League and is set to include a women’s division. The registration deadline was December 1st and all three men’s divisions should be announced soon. Additionally, league administrators have launched the Hummel Cup and are inviting teams from outside their league system to participate for only $100 registration fee. Register HERE        

EVERGREEN PREMIER LEAGUE WA

No news listed on the league site and have seen no registration information – likely to see news and a schedule soon.

NORTHWEST PREMIER LEAGUE

Over the winter, the Northwest Premier League took over the women’s division of indoor soccer from the WISL. Oly-Pen Force, Oly Town Artesians, Snohomish County FC, Tacoma Galaxy, and Whatcom Waves make up the inaugural NWPLi. In week one, Oly-Pen Force defeated Snohomish County 6-4 with goals from Jes Haga, Jacki Renner, Alyssa Beach, and Jules Bushaw. Snohoco goals came from Alma Mana’o, Nicole Nsa, Memory Phiri, and Erika Tingley. Then Tacoma Galaxy and Oly Town finished 11-7 with hattricks for the Galaxy from Nicole Williams, Alyssa Andrews, and Delaney Smith – Stephanie Spiekerman and Jackie Corley each contributed as well. Artesians’ goal scorers were Lily Dose with the brace and Eden Comstock, Rebecca Hummer, and Kailey Utley pitching in.

OREGON WOMEN’S OPEN CUP

United Womens Soccer recently announced they are returning to the Pac Northwest to sanction the second annual Oregon Women’s Open Cup. Dates are being worked out with likely hosts Capital Futbol Club out of Salem. Oregon Sportsbeat will provide the streaming service. USL LEAGUE 2

The Northwest Division added two more teams to the group, with Ballard FC and Oly Town FC joining over the winter. PDX FC away to OVF Alliance on May 20th will get the Division started with Lane United headed to Seattle to play Ballard FC on Saturday, the 21st. Timbers U23s will also be driving up to Washington to take on expansion side Oly Town Artesians.

WISL

Most recently, Tacoma Stars beat the Portland Blacktails 10-3 and Bellingham United defeated Oly Town Artesians 7-3 to set up the final. Tacoma goals came from Isidro Prado-Huerta, Nate Ford, Cris Lozano, Mark Lee, Steve Mohn, Micah Wenzel and Kyle Rivers whle Jose Rojas and Adrian Rubio scored for Portland. The Hammers of Bellingham had seven different goal-scorers: Spencer Wolfe, Dylan Langei, Kevin Flavin, Thomas Watson, Danny Fazio, Ivan Colin, and Uriel Herrera. This set up a final between Tacoma Stars and Bellingham United on Saturday, February 19th at the Showare Center in Kent, WA. The league site does not have the score update yet.

WPSL

No Schedule has been listed yet, but should be soon - the Northwest Conference will include Eugene Timbers FC Azul, ISC Gunners FC, OSA XF, PAC NW, Spokane SC Shadow and reigning Oregon Women’s Open Cup Champions, Westside Timbers.

CASCADIA ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL FEDERATION

CONIFA recently announced a Women’s World Cup but on such short notice, Cascadia was unable to generate enough interest from players to attend. The tournament will be held in Northern India and hosted by Tibet.

The men’s and women’s teams will be seeking local matches during the summer to drum up support and build camaraderie.
