The Top 24 Tops of 2024: Part Two (14 to Number 1)

Earlier today we released the first half of the Top 24 Tops of 2024, where we explained our ranking process - but in a nutshell, nine panelists were given 50 shirts from last year to look at and rank them from 50 down to number one. We took their independent rankings and found the average score to create our own Top Tops list. We removed numbers 25 to 50 and narrowed it down to 24 (it will be 25 kits in 2025, etc.)

Before we get stuck into the final countdown, from 14 down to number 1, here are the 26 shirts other great shirts ranked by the panel which didn’t make the Top 24 list.

Newcomer to the lower league soccer scene, Richmond Ivy, already dropped a classic with this top by Hummel. It finished 14th with an average ranking of 19.3

Kaylor Hodges, lead host of The USL Show, voted this top Number 1, “Simple, creative, unique. I’m somebody who loves a simpler design, but the Ivy checks all the boxes for my favorite kit of 2024. The ivy green and Richmond clay brick orange create one of the most unique and beautiful color combinations in US Soccer; used perfectly on their inaugural home kit.”

Voted Number One by Nicole Arias, “I love this retro style of kit. Reminds me a lot of the old Serie A Kappa kits.” Des Moines Menace’s 30th Season White Jersey by Hummel finished number 13 with an average ranking of 19.2

One Knox SC hits the Top Tops at Number 12 with their “Sunsphere Kit” by Hummel, which features Knoxville’s most iconic landmark - it averaged 18.7 by our panelists.

Sylvs from Shea Butter FC picked Ballard FC’s shirt number one, “I'm partial to a well designed green kit. The pattern is perfectly balanced and adds the right amount of pop, and blends well with the sponsor logo.” This modern day masterpiece by Inaria finished just outside the top ten with an average ranking from the panelists of 18.2

Brett Mullinex of the KITSZN podcast also voted Ballard FC number one, “Ballard FC's Stevie Shao just embodies what I love about lower League Soccer. It's creative, by a local artist, and it's very good looking. Was the standard for me all year for creativity."

Sioux Falls City FC come into the Top Tops at Number Ten with the colorful “Elevate Jersey” by Hummel. It averaged 18 by the panelists.

Player Layer’s shirt for Vermont Green is made from 100% recycled plastic and was designed by the club’s co-founder, Matthew Wolff. It breaks in at Number 9 in this year’s Top Tops and averaged 17.7 in the rankings

The SF Glens rocked an Irish heritage pattern on their goalkeeper shirts, Guinness Away, and Guinness Home tops that resulted in one of the year’s most celebrated kit trios - this shirt by Lexa Sport earned an average ranking of 17.6 and slots in at Number 8.

This year, Union Omaha smashed USL League One and looked great doing it! Their “Black Glow” shirt by Hummel comes in at Number 7 with an average rank of 17.2

Capelli Sport turned more than a few heads with this effort for Loudoun United which earned a Number 6 spot with an average ranking of 17 from the panelists.

Chicago House AC comes in at Number 5 with their Ultimate Home Jersey by Diaza. Voted Number 1 by Chicago resident and co vice-chair of the Independent Supporters Council, Nicole Hack. This amazing shirt averaged 14.9 in the rankings.

Carolina Ascent rocked these colorful shirts by Capelli Sport and made their way down to Number 4 in our Top Tops list. The shirt had an average ranking of 13.2 from our guest panel.

Voted number one by Josh Duder, “This shirt, more than any other, is spun from the fabric of community and shows a direct relationship with the city they represent - you don’t need to be a local to recognize the iconography used. Mostly, its just a beautiful piece of art.” San Francisco City FC’s Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill shirt by Icarus FC also received a number one vote from Danielle Gawronski from the Protagonist Soccer Super Show.
Despite two Number 1 votes, it comes in 3rd with an average ranking of 11.4

MPLS City SC’s shirts by Stimulus Athletic always come correct - this year’s “feather-ific” entry into the Top Tops didn’t let us down. It comes in at number two with an average ranking of 10.8

Greggo from FTCUTD made Oakland Roots SC’s home shirt by Charly USA his number one shirt of 2024. Seven out of nine panelists gave it a Top 10 ranking and it won Top Top of 2024 with an average rank of 8.4
