Under the Lights: FC Arcadia
Tell us the origin story of your club - when was the club founded? B
My name is Andy Aguilar, and I am the Founder, Owner, and Coach of FC Arcadia, the club started only as a simple idea back in 2023 but due to low funding and since we didn’t know where to start off from we decided to shut the idea down. It stayed like that for a while until January 29th of this year, when I came together with my cousin Omar Galindo who is now the Co-Owner of the club to basically get the idea back up, we thought why not give it a try and see how far we can take this idea and see if we could make it into a reality. Our goal was to create a connection with the community and get people together basically to share our love for soccer, and we also saw a gap in sports here in Arcadia, Wisconsin, Which is why we also founded this soccer club. Currently we are a local club based in Arcadia, Wisconsin.
Tell us about your badge and colors – how does it connect to the community and has it evolved over time or always been the same?
Our badge consists of the name “FC Arcadia” and the bottom consists of “MMXXIII” which is in Roman numerals for the year “2023”, the year the club was founded, and each star on the badge represents 7 founders that started the whole club. The main soccer club colors are : Red, Black, and Yellow. While our away kits are White, Black, and Red. The clubs colors have like a sense of connection with the people here in Arcadia, and we honestly chose these colors to represent how we feel like: Royalty. It makes us feel a connection to each of us on the team and our community. The badge will most likely stay the same for a couple of years, but our club will remain the same.
What league or leagues does your club participate in and why did you choose those to join?
This year is our first year of play, where we officially join our first league called the Wisconsin Premier Amateur Soccer league (WPASL) we chose to join the league since we are a basic, small, and barely starting club, as we founded just last year in around November of 2023. It would also make travel to games easier and would also provide us more support from the local community, as our games wouldn’t be too far away from them so that they can’t experience the joy of soccer games. We as a club are committed to keep it this way so long as we can as we continue to grow, we want our supporters to alway have a way to enjoy our soccer matches.
Many clubs choose to sell hats, scarves or replica kits - how does your club keep the lights on and cover its league costs? How can interested people support you?
We have dropped an official website, where fans can buy merchandise for our soccer club and support us by actively buying products and also promoting our products. The website we established was made by PI (Perfect Imprinting) and the way it works is they make our products and our website totally for free, and give us 20% of the profits each time we sell our products weekly. We as a club will use the 20% profits to help our club get supplies and the things it needs to be successful. We are also working with “Fanbase” a company that provides clubs with the tools it needs to be successful, they have provided us with a way to make season tickets and a way to sell these tickets. Not only that but it also helps us promote our team with promotions and discounts for our supporters.
We are also working on something big in the future which will be called “Founders+” which focuses on letting supporters from the families of the team members as well as those who by products from our website or from our sponsors enjoy our soccer, with discounts, free entry to some games, and more. People who are interested in our soccer team can support us by visiting our website, buying products, and promoting our products and website, it would mean a lot to us high school boys. You may also follow our journey on our socials, and also support our sponsors whom supported us. You may also contact us if you’d like to sponsor or donate to us. The team would be delighted and appreciate for everything you guys could do. We as a club are also working on making accounts that will stream our games LIVE with people who could commentate in either Spanish or English, our first account is on Twitch called: “agu_08” we will stream games live there as well as our social media platform, Instagram. (Feel free to add our website: https://fcarcadia.secure-decoration.com/?)
What are the team goals heading into your first season?
Our goals this year are: winning, scoring, and providing a connection with our supporters and fans along the journey.
If there were one or two teams, within a 100 miles of you, to play a friendly against – who would you play and why?
If there were two teams we’d go up against in a friendly it would be the high school soccer team, to build up a connection with the community and the people in our city, Arcadia, Wisconsin. We’d also would like to play a friendly match against Kaden Bergman’s team, I believe they are called Superior Wolfpack FC. The reason behind this is that, our club wouldn’t have a sense of purpose or where to play if it wasn’t for him, we wouldn’t have been to where we are this day. We’d like to do a friendly match against them to connect our fans and thank him for letting us join the WPASL, without him there wouldn’t be FC Arcadia.
Thanks for the opportunity to help write an article about FC Arcadia with Protagonist Soccer! - Andy Aguilar (Owner, Coach, and Founder of FC Arcadia) and our slogan is “Victory Is Our Name!” We hope that is how you remember us, FC Arcadia.
