USL League One: Week Three

USL League One kicks off Week Three on Saturday, April 1st with five matches. Notably, first place Charlotte Independence visit Richmond Kickers and the winner will retain first place for the week and depending on how other results work out, the lead could be either one point or as much as four points - for as early in the season as it is, this really could end up being an important result.

*One Knox SC vs Union Omaha has been postponed to another date due to travel conditions and delays.

Lexington SC visit North Carolina FC for a battle of the beatens and the loser will be bottom of the table - a spot all too familiar to NCFC, who have finished dead last for the past two seasons and are probably ready to not be. North Carolina have an exciting team, loaded with talent, and although it is only week three, a loss to an expansion team could sting. Coach John Bradford will be looking to get Rafa Mentzingen and Oalex Anderson flying early and trying to unbalance Lexington’s traditional 4-4-2. It should be a fun game to watch with both teams playing to win.

Champions Tormenta FC look to get back on track after losing their home opener last week. They won away in week one to get three points in the table, but need to show some ingenuity in breaking down a sturdy Northern Colorado Hailstorm defense and at the same time they better not give an inch to Irvin Parra - because that is all he’ll need to punish you.

Lastly, Chattanooga Red Wolves are playing host to Central Valley Fuego’s season opener. While some of their preseason results were a mystery, Fuego most recently drew an exhibition with former LMX Champions Pachuca and at the very least, the team from California is ready to get in the mixer. Red Wolves previously drew 0-0 at home and will be very keen to get on the scoreboard and give their home supporters something to cheer for.

NCFC look to scrape themselves off the bottom of the table when they host newcomers Lexington SC.
