Founded in 2017, Atlantic City FC have slowly grown to become one of the NPSL’s most well-run clubs. “The mission has always been to serve our community and help build a program that is sustainable with the right culture. We want to build and maintain facilities in Atlantic City, develop a program for the vastly undeserved youth in our city and create a team the city can be proud of on and off the pitch.” Said club president Andrew Weilgus. While this year has certainly been a test for everyone, Atlantic City have kept their chins up, “We plan on getting back to practicing soon but yes 2020 was a lost year on the pitch but certainly not off it. We've worked hard every day to grow our team and the value we give to our sponsors and community.”

Today they did just that, with the appointment of Francis Cagigao to their Board of Directors. “A fixture at Arsenal Football Club for over 23 years, Mr. Cagigao was the club’s longest-serving senior scout, eventually becoming Arsenal’s Head of International Scouting. A former professional player and coach, Mr. Cagigao has extensive expertise and a vast network across Europe and South America.” While Mr. Cagigao certainly had a huge impact on Arsenal, having been involved in the signings of some of the world’s greatest footballers, his role at Atlantic City FC is not clearly defined in the media release from the club. Suffice to say, when men and women are added to Boards of Directors, in any organization, they are done so with intent. Mr. Cagigao has a history of influencing football operations and there’s no reason to suspect he will simply be anonymous at ACFC.

While the addition of Mr. Cagigao is certainly the biggest news of the offseason for Atlantic City so far, we would be remiss to exclude the latest kits they produced with a company close to our own hearts. “The Fireworks on the Boardwalk kit was inspired by our sponsor the Tropicana Hotel and Casino which is now part of Caesars entertainment. “The Trop” houses our players and every Saturday night lights up the beach with an amazing fireworks display, we wanted to capture that and we were blessed to work with Icarus FC to get that design. It was a HUGE hit, people from over 25 states and 5 countries ordered and counting.” Get yours HERE – we did.
