NISA Rochester is now Flower City Union
In a video that highlighted the diversity of the city of Rochester, NY, the team announced the new name of their NISA expansion side, Flower City Union. The city of Rochester has had the nickname of the Flower City since the late 1800s, when local nurseries were supplying flowers around the world. As the news was announced, the club put out a press release highlighting the importance of the city and community.
“We are committed to being inclusive and supportive of our community from the start,” said David Weaver, ownership group leader. “The fans will play a big role in adding to the history of soccer in Rochester, and that starts this week.”
