EVERGREEN PREMIER LEAGUE WA

As of March 4th, the league is reporting that, although their first team has moved to the USL League 2, Oly Town Artesians FC will keep a reserve side in the EPLWA. “According to the team, players not selected for the USL2 game day roster will have the opportunity to compete for the Artesians in the EPLWA. Tryouts for their USL2 squad and overall player pool are set for March 19th and 20th. Visit https://olytownfc.com/usl2-tryouts/ for more information.”

The league website went on to say more updates, and likely a schedule, are coming soon. They were sad to report that Tacoma Narrows has withdrawn from the league and may have ceased operations altogether.

NORTHWEST PREMIER LEAGUE

Week 4 update for the NWPLi: Oly Town Artesians FC picked up their second win of the season with a 14-7 blowout of last place Whatcom Waves. Lily Dose led all scoring for the Artesians with a hattrick, while Lyla Pagnotta matched her with three goals for the Waves in a losing effort.

Snohomish County picked up their first win of the indoor season, beating Oly Pen Force 6-3. Anna Roslander led all scoring with a brace. The Whatcom Waves get another shot at picking up points this weekend as they host Snohomish County at the Bellingham Sportsplex - Oly Pen Force are also at home this weekend, playing second-highest scoring side Tacoma Galaxy.

NPSL

On March 2nd, the league announced that the Northwest and Southwest Conferences will be joining for the 2022 season and temporarily forming the Pacific Conference. This will include FC Arizona, Las Vegas Legends FC, SC Brave Lions, OSA Seattle, Crossfire Redmond and International Portland Select FC.

This is set to create a massive amount of travel and incur ridiculous costs for what amounts to fully amateur teams. Perhaps the scheduling will be done in a thoughtful way; double-header weekends or playing the same team twice (once on a Friday and again on a Sunday) to get as many matches out of one trip as possible. We’ll take a closer look into this once the schedules are available.

OREGON WOMEN’S OPEN CUP

United Womens Soccer recently announced they are returning to the Pac Northwest to sanction the second annual Oregon Women’s Open Cup. Dates are being worked out with likely hosts Capital Futbol Club out of Salem. Oregon Sportsbeat will provide the streaming service. Pre-registration is available HERE

UPSL

The Pacific Northwest Division recently announced expansion side Bellevue United and are in the process of drafting their schedule. Fall 2021 Division Champions, Seattle Lone Stars FC were kind enough to provide an update to their club below (including an announcement of targeting USL2 as their next step), but their original full interview is HERE

Where do you play and what league are you in?
The Seattle Lone Star current location for home games and practices are located at the Rainier Beach high school. Our practice days are Tuesdays and Thursdays and we alternate game days between Saturdays and Sundays.
The league that we currently play in is called the UPSL and our next goal will be the USL 2.
Running a team, at any level, can be expensive, do you have sponsorship? How do you cover the league and field fees?
The Seattle Lone Star doesn't currently have a sponsorship but are looking for one. Here is an attachment that can be shown to others. Although we don't have any sponsorships at the moment we work with the Liberian Community and represent them in different ways showing our culture, due to the fact that our team is based in the Liberian community.

Lane United recently announced the return of former player and coach, Conner Cappelletti after a two year absence.
