Super League Sync

There’s a reason that people throw around the phase “any given Sunday.” Because on any match day, a team can get it together and get a win, even when you don’t expect it…

Fort Lauderdale 2-1 Dallas Trinity

I can’t say what was going on in the minds of the Dallas Trinity players, but they seemed to be a bit flat in this matchup. Dallas has played extraordinarily well heading into this match, yet it was FTL that jumped to the early lead thanks to a blistering shot from Jasmine Hamid. It was a waffling, buzzing shot that beat the keeper and found the side netting, really a thing of beauty. Quickest goal in the Super League so far. Set the tone for the half.

In the second half, Dallas would even it up thanks to second half substitute Allie Thornton, who found the ball in the box and slotted it into the corner of the net in the 68th minute. But Fort Lauderdale wouldn’t be denied in this one and would find the net one more time thanks to the league’s goal leader Addie McCain. She was in the right place, right time and scored a beautiful goal from the penalty spot. Fort Lauderdale wins and Dallas continues to sit in third place.

Fall Finale

I guess the league picked Fall Finale, but Danielle has been using Decision Day. Whichever it is, we’re two weeks away from the end of the season and Brooklyn is holding on to the top spot. With Dallas’ loss at FTL, feels like it might be a stretch for them to finish the first half at #1, but there’s plenty of reasons to still have hope.
