How did you get started in soccer?
My parents provided me with the opportunity to play a variety of sports growing up which I really enjoyed. It wasn’t until I joined Stars FC of Mass at 10/11 years old when I found my niche and passion. That’s when I began to really focus solely on soccer and pursue playing at a collegiate level. I am grateful for the support system I have had both at home and throughout my playing experience.
Favorite moment of the 2021 UWS season?
I’d say this past weekend winning the East Conference Final was the highlight of the season so far. After driving 7 hours (one way) to Buffalo, NY with only 12 girls on the roster, securing that title was a very proud and fulfilling moment individually and collectively.
Biggest challenge this season?
A challenge we had to overcome would be our half-way point this season when we hit a plateau of tying back-to-back road games and missing out on crucial points. We were able to grind through it and get into playoff contention, which says a lot about the caliber players we have this year.
How would you describe your team?
Relentless and dedicated are two words I would use to describe this group. Every player bought-in to our style of play and contributed to a strong and positive team chemistry for the entire season. We held ourselves to high standards and maintained quality during training sessions, helping us get to where we are now. I am not surprised at all that we were able to win an East Conference Final with a maximum of 12 players because I knew every girl was not leaving Buffalo without that title. This is the elite mindset we have brought to each practice and game.
What is your next goal in soccer?
Although I am further along in my playing career, I plan on staying around the game for as long as I can. Whether that is as a player, coach or administrator I want to leave the women’s game better than I found it. I believe that is a commonality across the board with this UWS league and all of its teams which is great to see. We are certainly headed in the right direction.
Which professional do you want to model your game after and why?
Harry Kane – I believe that he encompasses all the attributes of a professional soccer player.
