USL Announces Alignment for Amateur Leagues

Today the USL announced information regarding the upcoming League Two and USL W League seasons. Both leagues continue to expand, adding teams and divisions, filling out their respective amateur maps.

For the USL W League, the 2025 season will feature 93 teams across 15 divisions. That’s a net addition of 13 clubs, up from 80 in 2024. The league highlighted that 28 expansion sides are joining the USL W this year. It’s also an addition of three new divisions, the SoCal Division, the Great Forest Division and the Chesapeake Division. The league will release its full schedule on February 18th.

On the USL League Two front, more expansion as well. This year’s League Two will feature two new divisions across 36 states. Those divisions will also feature 30 first-time clubs joining USL. Every team will play 10-12 matches with the full schedule still in the works (today’s announcement did not include a date for that schedule release).

What is crystal clear from today’s announcement is that the USL continues to expand into both women’s and men’s amateur soccer, filling out their map across the country. The league has excelled in standardizing operations and are winning fans in amateur teams front offices. 2025 should be a bright one for USL’s amateur arm!
